Hi Robert,
This week's meetings are listed below:
Tuesday 28 August - MAIN Meeting - 5:30pm - 8:30pm
Daniel will be presenting Trend's latest MAXIMUM Security 2012 product, and will explain how Trend's protective software makes every day computing the safest it has ever been, how Trend secures your digital life and keeps you safe from malware, viruses, trojans, phishing threats, banking scams and so much more - without slowing you or your PC down - and with Windows 8 compatibility when it ships.
There will be a THREE of copies of Trend's Maximum Security 2012 valued at $129.95 each, which is a fantastic set of prizes from Trend Micro.
As you know, I'll be in Thailand during the meeting, so apologies that I won't be there in person - please make Daniel feel welcome as per usual and have a great meeting! See you next month!
Saturday 1 September - Penrith Group - F. Bowman - 2:00pm - 5:00pm
Frank Bowman will start the meeting with a question and answer session around the table, to enable members to share problems, advice and tips.
At their last meeting the members had a close look at the Kingsoft word processor (freeware) and were pleasantly surprised at its many features, ease of use and compatibility with Microsoft Office. In addition, David, their network expert, gave the group an interesting and informative session on elementary networks.
At this month's meeting they plan to:
- search for some freeware programs that convert video files from one format to another;
- add a few paragraphs to a website using HTML code; and
- research ways to wirelessly connect a laptop to a television set.

The Penrith SIG meets at St Clair High School, Endeavour Avenue, St Clair.
