Read about it and download it here.
We start 2012 with three meeting next week. The details follow:
Tuesday 10 January - Programming - N. Hoffman - 5:30pm - 8:30pm
At the December meeting Steve showed his completed PCB module for extracting hydrogen and oxygen from water by electrolysis. It is part of a project for boosting the performance of cars by adding these gases to the fuel. See http://www.wam-a-bam.com/hydrostarinfo.html.
Alex showed a wireless Bluetooth connector to a remote serial board and Martin showed a thermometer with LCD display he built, using a DS18S20 temperature probe with a microprocessor.
At this month's meeting the group will look at some new microprocessor applications and programming examples. You are welcome to come to the meeting.
Friday 13 January - Seniors - 9:30am - 12:30pm
eBooks continue to generate a lot of interest in the community.
At this meeting the group will extend the scope of recent discussions to take into consideration the range of eBooks, audio books and other readers available in the market.
However, as a reader is only useful if there is a good supply of suitable reading material available, the group will consider what can be obtained from free and commercial sources at present.
Members with practical experience with readers should add weight to this discussion. There will also be time for questions.
Friday 13 January - Communications - J. Lucke - 12:30pm - 3:30pm
At this meeting John will consider some of the consequences of the demise of computer based e-mail clients like Courier, Outlook Express and Windows Mail.
He will also discuss whether the web-based e-mail clients like Gmail, Yahoo Mail or Windows Live Mail are really better alternatives?
There will also be an open discussion and question and answer session to help members solve their communication problems.
Visitors are welcome at all meetings,
Please remember if your e-mail address is changed for any reason at all, unless you tell me your new address you will not receive these weekly updates! Any change of address should be notified to firstname.lastname@example.org
