WEEKLY NEWSLETTER 30 January - 4 February 2017

Hello and Welcome,

A Puzzle for readers of this Newsletter

Several readers have noticed that their copies of this Newsletter appear to have black text on a black background. Others have seen dark-coloured text on a similar dark-coloured background.

We are puzzled, since we cannot reproduce this startling effect.

Possible causes:

  • You are using a browser to read the emails and it has some strange default "style" which produces the observed colours.
  • You have an unusual email client (program that you use to read your emails) and either it has set the displayed colours or an unusual Option/Preference has been set by you.
  • There is a bug in the Microsoft or Apple Operating Systems which override your colour settings.
  • There are aliens at work.

If you observe any of these problems and you know how to take ScreenShots, please send as much information as you can, including which Operating System that you use, to the Editor by replying to this Newsletter with ScreenShots.

Thanks ... Ed

Meetings for This Week:

Penrith Group - Saturday 4th Feb - 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

The meeting normally starts with a question and answer session around the table to enable members to share problems, advice and tips.

When this is concluded the group may consider:

(a) Windows 10. Even though it is regarded as Microsoft's best operating system it has some annoying aspects which will be discussed by the members. They will then look at some of the solutions to these issues suggested by technology writers

(b) Any further topics of interest.
