WEEKLY NEWSLETTER 6 - 11 February 2017

Hello and Welcome,

Meetings for This Week:

Friday Forum - Friday 10th Feb - 9:30 am - 12 noon

We usually have a Q & A session in the first hour, lasting up to an hour (if members have some interesting problems).

Topic: How the Black Screen was fixed

This Newsletter is composed using Gmail, and sent out in HTML format. This means that the message consists of HTML elements (like paragraphs, images, colours etc.), but Gmail will not let you actually edit the HTML statements themselves. This makes the fixing of the Black Screen rather tricky.

Gmail will not even let you change 10th of Feb into 10th of Feb, so we will find out how the pale-green background colour was changed from the 3-digit form to the 6-digit form.

Topic: Amazing new Windows features you'll want to try

This comes from the Windows 10 Insider Preview people and will interest all who are using Windows 10.

Communications - Friday 10th Feb - 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Topic: Phones mobile and landline

In this new age of enlightenment, phones both mobile and landline are still one of our most important means of communicating. But it seems everyone has a question to ask or a story to tell about phones or phone service providers. At this meeting we will consider all these issues and more. Also John will give an account of his attempt to set-up a U-Bute, newfangled, multiple cordless phone system designed to do everything except feed the chooks.

There will be time for general discussion and a Q & A session as well.
