Tech Tip:

How to change the Short Date as seen on the Taskbar:

Go to: Control Panel | Date and Time Region and Language (Win 7) or Region (Win 10) | Additional settings | Date | Short date.

You can then either select one of the pull-down formats or actually compose a new one yourself.

The one that I use is "ddd d/M MMM/yyyy" meaning: "short-day-name day-of-month/number-of-month short-month-name/4-digit-year", giving: "Sat 18/11 Nov/2017" for today's date.

In fact, you can also insert other characters like "(" and ")" etc. as well. All you have to do is quote the strings with a single quote sign.

One example might be "ddd d/M '('MMM')' /yyyy". Can you figure this one out?

Ed.
